Dermaroller
Dermaroller otherwise known as micro-needling, is a type of skin rejuvenation treatment involving a roller with tiny needles along its surface placed to produce shallow punctures in the skin.
The tiny punctures made by the Dermaroller device stimulate a healing response within the skin, thus increasing cellular renewal and collagen and elastin production. This helps to rejuvenate the appearance of the skin, plumping out fine lines and wrinkles and improving the appearance of marks, scars and stretchmarks.
A course of treatments is usually recommended in order to achive the greatest visble results, particularly for cases of acne scarring or stretch marks. Although, many clients notice visible results following a single treatment.
During an intial consultation we will assess your skin and determine how many treatments you are likely to need.
I have heard about dermaroller being used to treat acne scarring, is this true?
Yes it is, a dermaroller micro-needling treatment is often used to effectively treat acne scars, producing particularly effectual results on pitted acne scarring. The dermaroller stimulates a healing response within the skin which aids in smoothing and plumping the skin’s surface. Pitted acne scarring is therefore plumed to produce an even skin tone. This treatment is entirely natural since it is the body which is resposonible for the work.

?
It has been clinically proven that 86% of people with grade 1-3 acne scars had marked improvements after undergoing a dermaroller treatment.
Are dermaroller treatments painful ?
A topical anaesthetic is applied to the treated area therefore when the tiny micro needles pierce through the outermost layer of skin it is barely felt.
Immediately following the treatment the skin will feel a little sensitive, restricted and red, however, this should subside within a few hours. After two days the skin will have healed itself and bisble results will be shown in an improved appearance.
